As Ukraine seeks to fend off Russian forces, President Zelensky has repeatedly requested Western governments to provide his country warplanes. However, Ukraine’s warplane crisis seems to have to exposed the underlying fear and tussle between the US and its allies. The Pentagon has dismissed Poland’s plan to hand its MiG-29 fighter jets to the US to be made available to Ukraine. Why are America and Poland reluctant to directly provide the warplanes to Ukraine?
