Chinese mainland reports 23 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases

China recorded 23 local cases of coronavirus infections on October 27, 2021. The latest batch was found across the country, including in the capital Beijing, as well as in the northwestern provinces of Gansu and Inner Mongolia. But the number has dropped from the record 50 cases registered a day earlier. Last week, an outbreak of the Delta variant linked to a Shanghai couple’s road trip spread to 11 provinces. It has led to the capital further tightening measures in order for the city to return to zero cases before the start of the Beijing Winter Olympics on February 4.
