2010年10月18日16:40に恩賜上野動物園から京都市動物園に到着したゴリラのモ
モタロウが，今年で在園満11年となり，ゲンタロウはモモタロウが来園した時の
年齢である10歳を迎えます。そこで，モモタロウが来園した際の受入の様子やゲ
ンキとの同居・交尾の様子を御紹介するページを開設しました。

飼育日誌より
0008F（ゲンキ）および0014M（モモタロウ）の同居。
　午前10時25分頃交尾し，成立したものと見られる。全体的にゲンキがアピールし，モモタロウが相手にしなかったりディスプレイしたりといった感じ。午後3時から夜間まで，1，2番寝室およびシュートに収容。
　午後3時45分頃に2回，午後5時10分頃に1回の3回，交尾を確認した。
　先月までの交尾と比べ，モモタロウが短く鳴き，痙攣することなく交尾にいたった。ゲンキは体勢を変える行動がなくなった。
　ゲンキとの交尾後，採尿し鏡検。直接鏡検により精子を確認（数は1個／5視野くらいか）。運動性のある精子も確認。形態に異常はない。射精まで至っていると思われる。ゲンキの次回の生理予定日は4月26日前後。

Excerpt from observation record
Genki and Momotaro were living together.
They mated at about 10:25 a.m., and it appears to have worked. Overall, Genki appealed to Momotaro and Momotaro either did not respond or displayed. From 3:00 p.m. until nighttime, they were housed in bedrooms 1 and 2 and in the connecting corridor.
　Mating was observed three times, twice at 3:45 pm and once at 5:10 pm.
　Compared to last month, Momotaro made short cries and mated without convulsions. Genki did not change her position any more.
　After mating with Genki, urine was collected for specular examination. Direct speculum examination confirmed the presence of sperm (about one sperm per five fields of view). Motile sperm were also observed. No abnormalities in morphology. It was assumed that he had reached ejaculation. Genki's next expected menstrual period is around April 26th.
